This trail was the first all-accessible trail that TVA built.
Location: At Watts Bar Dam in Rhea County NW of Peakland. (recertified in 1992)
- States: Tennessee
The paved trail is a great place to stretch your legs after enjoying a picnic under the trees. Walkers may find it a little bit cooler along this trail than out by the lake. It is on the Watts Bar Dam Reservation on the right as you enter the day-use area.

Short paved trail through some trees by the dam
This is a short paved loop trail through some trees at the day-use area of Watts Bar Dam. The parking area is the first one to your right as you enter the area (before you reach the larger parking lot for the water and playground). The trail needs some maintenance as the pavement is cracked in places and there are plant debris and a small tree across the trail. Easy to step over if you are walking, but the trail is billed as wheelchair-accessible, so some clean-up and perhaps smoothing out the pavement here and there is needed. March 20, 2026
